The 2024 Kings of Tallinn €1,100 Main Event drew a massive field of 914 entries, absolutely obliterating the previous record of 716 entries, stemming from last year. An equally gigantic prize pool of €859,160 was created, and when all was said and done, Edgaras Kausinis was the first-ever Lithuanian Kings of Tallinn Main Event winner taking home the lion's share of €120,910, the trophy, and the ever-lasting glory of becoming a Kings of Tallinn champion.
Kausinis' live breakout was just a month ago at OlyBet Ace Break Vilnius, where he won the €1,100 High Roller, though it has been said that Kausinis has plenty of experience playing tournaments online. Today, he added another trophy to his newly forming collection, along with a new career-best score.
Kausinis made a three-way deal with his fellow countryman Mantas Tamulevicius, whom he defeated heads up after a short but swingy battle, and Aleksi Naksi from Finland, who was on his second consecutive Kings of Tallinn Main Event final table after finishing sixth in 2023. They both took home €105,000, while the likes of 2023 €550 Championship winner Benjamin Gros and businessman and high roller Paul Newey secured a five-figure payout on the final table of eight.

Day 4 Action
Eleven hopefuls returned to Olympic Park Casino in Tallinn for the final day of the Main Event, but two more had to depart before a final table could be formed. Danish poker legend Frederik Brink bowed out in 11th soon after the day had started, running tens into kings. Last Estonian standing Herli Olop then followed quickly in tenth, while simultaneously Mindaugas Jonaitis took a bad beat on the outer table to send eight players to the final table.
Once there, the play slowed down significantly. After nearly two hours without eliminations, Newey bit the dust as he could not spin up his seven blinds. What followed was a three-and-a-half-hour-long standoff between seven players, seeing multiple double-ups and several changes in the chip lead. Eventually, Wissam Polus had enough and three-bet jammed eleven big blinds with four-three offsuit. He could not best the ace-king of Naski and was sent home in seventh place.
A few hands later, fellow Swede Greger Aktell joined Polus on the rail after his ace-king ran into the aces of Tamulevicius. In the meantime, the stacks had become shallower with the increasing blinds, and eventually, the five remaining players all had roughly the same number of chips. However, as it goes with poker, someone has to be on the short end, and that turned out to be Even Rislov. The Norwegian could not improve his ace-queen against the ace-king of Kausinis and was eliminated in fifth.
The same Kausinis won a flip against Gros to knock the Frenchman out in fourth, and the three remaining players played for a few minutes before they went off to discuss a deal. After the numbers were agreed upon and they had shaken hands, Naski bluffed off most of his stack on a four-flush board before eventually losing a coin flip to Kausinis to fall in third place.
The heads-up was then set up between Kausinis and Tamulevicius. The Lithuanians battled only briefly, with Tamulevicius receiving a double-up at the beginning to take the lead. However, Kausinis got value with a straight to take it right back and made another straight a few hands later to seal the deal, getting it all in against Tamulevicius' top pair, who was already drawing dead.
That concludes the coverage for the record-breaking 2024 edition of Kings of Tallinn, but numerous other poker festivals are sure to follow in the Estonian capital, with Queens of Tallinn and WSOPC Tallinn, already having been announced.

Cards are in the air for the final day. This will be our last post of the day in real time as we will will report on a 30-minute delay to not give away any spoilers to those also watching the event unfold via the exclusive OlyBet livestream with hole cards exposed at OlyBet.tv.
On Sunday, March 5, 2023, Aleksi Naski took his seat on the final day of the Kings of Tallinn €1,100 Main Event. Today, 52 weeks later, he gets a second shot at glory as once again he found his way to Day 4. Last year, Naski finished sixth, but this time around he is aiming for the first-place prize of €151,860, which is the largest piece of the €859,160 prize pool, and of course the magnificent Main Event trophy.
Already outlasting 903 players, Naski comes into the final day second in chips out of the 11 hopefuls returning on the final day, who all have secured €10,500 for their efforts so far. With a stack of 4,230,000 chips, he will have 71 big blinds available as he tries to maneuver himself to victory. The only player who managed to acquire more than that is Vilnius Ace Breaker High Roller champion Edgaras Kausinis, who will sit down with 4,600,000 chips at the start of play. Meanwhile, Swedish poker veteran Greger Aktell is the third and only other player with more than 50 big blinds with his stack of 3,725,000.
Naski knows what it takes to win, having six live titles to his name. However, he is not the only player still in the field with that experience as EPT Madrid 2012 champion Frederik Brink is also in contention, although coming in with the shortest stack of 1,240,000 chips. Brink even has a million-dollar score at the Aussie Millions in 2010, and is miraculously enough not the only one left in the field who has achieved such a feat. British high roller Paul Newey graced Tallinn with a visit and will bring 1,565,000 chips into the Main Event finale. Newey not only has a seven-figure score, it also came in a seven-figure buy-in, as a reference of how high he truly rolls. The money may mean not as much to him as to some others, but the glory of hoisting the trophy will be no less.
Meanwhile, most of the spectators in Olympic Park Casino will be rooting for the last Estonian still in the field, Herli Olop, an ex-poker manager and beloved face of the Estonian community. With 2,120,000 chips to his name, Olop is right in the middle of the pack. Also among the 11 returning are Kings of Tallinn 2023 €550 Championship winner Benjamin Gros (1,365,000) and the Lithuanian duo of Mantas Tamulevicius (1,895,000) and Mindaugas Jonaitis (1,325,000).
