In light of the devastating news about our friend and fellow player Ryan "Snides" Snyder, Joanne and the PPT staff have decided to dedicate this series to his memory. While the official announcement has not yet been made, PPT staff will make the announcement this weekend and plan to have a tribute to Ryan next weekend during the Main Event. All local players are encouraged to come by on Saturday next week for the tribute.
We also realize this is a very difficult time for his family and the emotional burden is huge right now. As such, we want to help a bit with some of the physical burden by helping to raise money for funeral and travel expenses to get Ryan home and properly laid to rest. For those who are able, please visit the GoFundMe page and donate what you can to help Ryan's family during this very difficult time.
Please join me once again in sending our thoughts to Ryan's family; he will be sorely missed by many people.
It's time for the fourth edition of the Pure Poker Tour for 2024! Trophy events for the series run for 10 days from Sep 19 - Sep 30 with the High Roller closing out the series on the 30th.
Among the highlights of the schedule are the ever-popular 6-Max and 8-Max games, as well as Mixed and PLO Big Bounty action for 4-card lovers. Team lovers will get a chance to party on the opening weekend (there will be poker on the side as well) as that event plays out alongside Day 1b of the Mystery Bounty.
Perhaps the biggest change to the schedule this time around is the addition of the first-ever Flip & Go game on the PPT. Flip rounds start right from the opening day with Day 2 action scheduled for Wed, Sep 25. The Flip rounds are crazy pineapple with players all-in before the flop. There is a discard round on the flop and then the rest of the board runs out to determine a winner. Players can play multiple flips and take more than one stack to Day 2.
Players who win one flip on the 8-handed tables will start Day 2 with 160k, or 80 big blinds. All players on Day 2 are in the money, and Day 2 plays out as a regular MTT format with the added bonus of a guaranteed payout. There will be six days of flip rounds before Day 2 on Wednesday, and flips will be running throughout each day once 8 players register.
For players who love the flip variance and quick action, there will also be single hand flip satellites to the Main Event running throughout the series making for a quick way to win your set to the Main. Follow along with my live reporting for PokerPro, powered by Main Event Travel, for details on all 16 trophy events over the next couple of weeks.
