"They all got Duff'ed!" That was Duff Charette's comment after taking down the High Roller for $23,860. He also mentioned he needed second in today's event to make a profit in the series, so the win was a big series saver for him.
He and Eric Wasylenko had a short heads-up game after about 7 hours of play on Day 2 of the High Roller. In the final hand Charette rivered top pair after flopping a flush draw. "I thought I was going to have to bluff," he said, but it turned out he didn't have to. Wasylenko did it for him with his missed straight draw, and Charette was able to call it off with top pair and the best.
Charette has a pretty good time here in Alberta with a couple of rings in Calgary already this year, plus the High Roller win today.
The High Roller is over now with Eric Wasylenko finishing in second place. Duff Charette flopped a flush draw, then rivered top pait for the win with Wasy on a busted straight draw. While Wasy wasn't able to defend his two Main Event titles this time around, he did get a second cash for this series after his win in the 6-Max.

They are heads up now after Chris Lastiwka lost a race to Duff Charette. Lastiwka limped, then shoved over the raise from Charette to 38k. Charette snap-called it to set up the race between his pocket nines and for Lastiwka. The pair held and Lastiwka picked up his biggest lifetime cash in Edmonton.

They are down to three now after Vince Lam hit the rail for fourth place. Duff Charette opened to 25k under the gun and Eric Wasylenko the button before Vince Lam shoved all in for about 250k. Charette reshoved for more to isolate and Wasy got out of the way.
Lam was dominated wth ace-jack into ace-king, and Charette flopped his king on the board of .

They are now in the money after Zeyu "Skytrain" Huang busted on the bubble. He raised his button to 60k with just 50k behind. Eric Wasylenko called from the small blind to the flop of . Wasy check-called the shove from Huang with for the open-ended draw while Huang was on ace-queen.
The turn completed Wasy's straight and the river was meaningless to send Huang to the rail.

They are on the money bubble now after Daniel Lefebvre lost his short stack. He's been nursing the short one for a while and finally found a suited ace to get it in with. He ran into pocket sevens with a seven on the flop to send him home in 6th place.

Daniel Lefebvre shoved the cutoff for a short stack of 12k and Duff Charette raised the button to 28k to isolate. Vince Lam had a decision on the big blind, but decided to muck to set up for Charette against for Lefebvre. There was a jack on the flop of the board and Lefebvre stayed alive, but he's still pretty short.
Eric Wasylenko is the chip leader going into Level 16. Full stacks are below and loaded under the Chip Counts tab.

Eric Wasylenko opened under the gun to 12k, then called when Chris Lastiwka raised to 32k from the cutoff. Wasy check-called for 25k on the all-heart flop but check-folded to 60k on the turn. They are about 5 minutes from a break, and I'll grab full chip counts then.
They are now down to 6 players after the recent busts from Phillip Louie and HH.
They are down to 8 left on the HR final table after Nohad Teliani was the first to exit the FT. Below is a look at 7 of the 8 players with HH missing by request.
They are down to the final nine players now in the High Roller with four paid spots tonight. Below is a look at where the final nine are seated, and I'll grab some pictures shortly.

I am still watching the Main EVent heads up between Michael Bernstein and Ian Alvarado, but the High Roller is now down to 14 players after getting four extra entries today for a total field of 31. That put the prizes at $53,010 and the winner tonight is set to pocket $23,860.
The action on Monday will be in the poker room and they've opened a 4th table to accommodate new players, meaning the previous seat draw I posted is incorrect, so ignore it. Below is correct seat draw for four tables, and they'll break back to three as necessary.
The stacks weren't recorded when they were collected tonight, and as I was watching the Main Event, I didn't have time to go over and record them myself so unfortunately, I have no eyes on any of the stacks for the High Roller game.

I won't be watching this one very closely today as I'll be focused on the Main Event Day 2, but I'll try to keep up to date with numbers at least.
