Eric Wasylenko definitely enjoys his time on the tables here in Edmonton. He's already won two Main Events this year to add to multiple side event titles and Main Event final tables from last year and today he added another PPT trophy to his collection in the 6-Max.
It was a dominating performance for the Winnipeg native. He had the big stack for most of the day -- when they were six-handed at the final table Wasy had just shy of half the chips in play. He used the big stack masterfully, forcing other players to fold and generally bullying the table wherever he could. The final hand came down to runner-up Rob Lothian shoving a king from the button when Wasy woke up with pocket sevens. The sevens held on a dry board and Wasylenko had yet another trophy for his growing collection.

It was always an uphill climb for Rob Lothian in heads-up tonight. Eric Wasylenko had a big lead to start the session, and while Lothian was able to get up to about 600k at one point, he couldn't quite find enough to get the lead.
Lothian was short for much of the final table, and played a solid short-stack game throughout to ladder into the runner-up spot. In the final hand, he shoved the button with kind-deuce by Wasylenko woke up with pocket sevens. The board was clean for the sevens and Lothian had to settle for second place tonight.

It was limped to a flop of and both players checked it to the turn. Eric Wasylenko check-called for 30k then checked again on the river.
Lothian checked behind and Wasy chuckled as he turned over six-three of hearts for two pair. "I was trappy trappy" he said with a smile.
The 6-Max players are now on a break with Eric Wasylenko still in the lead.

Ron Lothian isn't going easily tonight. He got a double shortly after the hand that left him with 200k and he just chipped up a bit more when Eric Wasylenko raised to 30k and Lothian called. Lothian check-called for 15k on the flop and both players checked the turn. Lothian fired 80k on the river and Wasy called but mucked when Lothian showed king-trey for flopped two pair.

What started as a limped pot got huge by the river. The flop brought a check-raised from Lothian, going from Wasy's original bet of 15k to 55k. Wasy called to see on the turn. Lothian fired 80k and Wasy flatted to the river.
Lothian bet 100k, but then hit the tank hard when Wasy shoved a covering stack. He finally mucked his hand to leave about 200k behind.

Skyler York shoved the small blind and Ro Lothian called with less from the big. York was on king-nine but dominated against the king-queen for Lothian. A queen on the flop gave Lothian a big lead, and the rest of the board bricked out for York.
That left York with about 60k, but he lost that shortly after in a blind-on-blind hand against Eric Wasylenko. Wasy raised the small, then called off the shove from York in the big. It was a race between the ace0king for Wasy and pocket fives for York, and Wasy hit his ace on the flop to take it down.

It was blind on blind between DJ Sharma (small) and Eric Wasylenko (big). Wasy has the big stack, and when Sharma looked at his first card he announced all in before looking at #2. Wasy made a quick fold face up with seven-deuce offsuit, and only then did Sharma decide to see what his second card was. When he found another ace behind the first one, he was a little annoyed that he didn't play it a bit differently.
Shortly after, there was a limped pot between Wasy and Skyler York. Action checked through to the river on and Wasy bet 10k on the river. York raised it to 75k and after a few seconds, Wasy tossed in the one-chip call, taking it down with eight-three for the turned pair of eights.
Skyler York raised the small blind to 20k, then asked for a count and called when Ron Lothian shoved 112k. Lothian was on pocket fives against for York and the fives held on a board of .
Eric Wasylenko is running hot tonight with the big stack. He just extended his lead when he got there against the aces of Weston Pring with big slick. Wasy raised and Pring flatted. The flop came king-high and the money went in. Pring was looking good for the double until Wasy spiked a 3rd king on the river to take it down with trips

Kris Steinbach's double didn't kast very long as he hit the rail just before the break for 6th place. Steiner shoved ace-seven but he got "Sharma-Timed" when DJ Sharma rerasied with . The got them heads up and Sharma flopped two hearts then rivered the flush to take it down.

DJ Sharma raised to 12k from under the gun before Kris Steinbach shoved about 30k from the small blind. Rob Lothian flatted the shove from the big, but then had to tank-fold when Sharma raised him enough to put him all in.
Sharma had against for Steiner and there was a jack on the flop to extend his lead. Shara flopped a gutshot, however, and called for a ten but it never came on the board of .
They are down to 6 now after Jon Jacquard was the first to bust from the final table. He picked up $912 for his troubles today after he shoved pocket tens and was called by Eric Wasyenko with king-queen off. Wasy turned the queen to send Jacquard to the rail. Jacquard recently took 3rd in the $1k game at the most recent WSOP-C event in Calgary.

Here is a look at the final table players in the money. There is a break coming up in about 10 minutes and I'll grab full chip counts then.

Eric Wasylenko raised to 10k from under the gun and Jolnar Teliani defended her big blind with a call. She check-called for 7k on the flop and again for 21k on the turned. She checked a third time on the river, then hit the tank hard when Wasy slid out a bet of 55k. She eventually made the call but mucked when Wasy showed for the turned trips.
Leo Zhang was the most recent casualty from the 6-Max game on the soft bubble in 9th place. That leaves them on the hard bubble with play about to go hand for hand.

In the first hand, the board was already dealt reading and Kris Steinbach fired a bet of 41k. After some time in the tank Rob Lothian slid in the call but mcuked when Steiner showed the ace-high diamond flush.
In the next hand, Steinbach tried to limp the small blind, but then snap-mucked when Lothian shoved his big. Meanwhile, on the other table, Geordi Lobe hit the rail to bring the game to 10 left.

Level 12 has just begun with the field down to 14 left now, 7 off the money spots. I'll grab full chip counts from the remaining players at the break following this level and it looks like they'll hit the money bubble sometime in Level 14 or so.
Level 11 has just begun with the 6-Max field down to 21 remaining. There will be a break after Level 12 and I'll get full chip counts during that break for the remaining players. They are down to 4 tables in the 6-Ma game now with 23 players left in the action. It looks like Eric Wasylenko and Kris Steinbach are among the big stacks out there right with both players playing around 120k right now.
The prizes are in and the field is confirmed at 64 entries for prizes of $30,400. First place later will pocket almost $11k while the 7th place min-casher will get $912. See below for the full prizes.

It was a small one today for the 6-Max with the final unofficial number at 64 entries. I'll confirm that when the prizes are posted later but if it holds, it will mean 7 players share in $30,400 in prizes.
Level 8 has just begun and this is the final level of poker for new entries or rebuys. The entry desk will stay open through the dinner break following this level, but will be shut at the start of Level 9 around 6 pm. There are currently 57 entries on the board for prizes of just over $27k.

There are now 50 entries up for the 6-Max with 34 players still at the felt and about 15 minutes to play in Level 6.
They are back from the first break of the day and there are now four more levels of open entry today. Jolnar Teliani was a recent entry just after the break, while Geordi Lobe, Kyle Hartree, Brian Wells, and Tina Nguyen have been seated in the game for a while without mention yet.

Level 2 has just kicked off with 15 entries on the board for what continues to be a slow start here in the 6-Max game. There are still about 4.5 hours left to enter this one so the numbers will certainly increase, but it looks like today's event may be somewhat smaller than expected.
The 6-Max game is now underway with a bit of a slow start. There are 10 entries on the board to start the day for prizes of $4,750. Entries will be open until about 6 pm.
