By all accounts it was a bit of a rollercoaster for Daniel O'Leary today, but he ended the ride the best way possible. He said he was down to 4 big blinds more than once during the course of the game before bouncing back each time.
He went on a bit of a tear when play got 4-handed. Initially with four left, it looked like it would be Jason Ross that dominated the night. He had around half the chips in play and seemed set to run away withit, but after Benny Sarnelli sent Chantal Goulet home in 4th, O'Leary found a double against Ross to take a slight lead
He then drove the stake home with a pre-flop raising war where he ad Ross got all in with O'Leary on bog slick against queen-jack for Ross. A flopped ace later and O'Leary was heads up against Sarnelli with a huge lead.
Sarnelli tries to chip away at the mountain across from him, but he couldn't find any traction, and it finally went in when O'Leary limp-jammed over Sarnelli's raise. Sarnelli called with a suited king, but ran into the ace for O'Leary. That was all he needed when the board ran out missing both players.
This is O'Leary's fourth PPT trophy to date. Notably, he binked back-to-back trophies earlier this year in Calgary on successive nights, so O'Leary seems to run pretty well here on the PPT.

It was always going to be a tough slog for Benny Sarnelli heads up. Daniel O'Leary went on a tear four-handed, collecting a huge chip lead after sending Jason Ross to the rail in third place.
Sarnelli played a bit of small ball poker, trying to extend his short stack, but O'Leary wore him down. In the final hand, O'Leary limp-jammed from the button when Sarnelli raised him up to 60k. Sarnelli was pretty short and decided it was time to make his stand with a call. O'Leary had against for Sarnelli. The board bricked for both hands leaving the ace in front.

They are heads up now after Jason Ross hit the rail in third place. He'd doubled up Daniel O'Leary to surrender the big stack shortly after the break, so he was at risk when he raised to 100k from the small blind, then shoved over Daniel O'Leary's reraise to 230. O'Leary snapped it off and he had ace-king versus queen-jack for Ross. O'Leary nailed his ace on the flop and that was all he needed to send Ross to the rail.

They are three ways after Chantal Goulet hit the rail in 4th place tonight. Benny Sarnelli shoved the small blind with a suited king and Goulet called off from the big with queen-nine. Neither player hit the board so the king played for the win.

It wa sa hige cooler that sent Jordan Hrynko to the rail in 5th place. He had ace-king but ran into the aces for Jason Ross while Benny Sarnelli folded jacks face up. The aces held and they are now four-handed.

The side game tonight is an old-fashioned freezeout game. The action gets going at 5 pm and players will have 8 levels to enter the game. That should put the final chance to enter at about 9:30 pm this evening. Players get 20k in chips to start with 30-minute blind levels throughout the night (20 minutes heads up).
I won't likely have much bandwidth for this one today until the Mix game is complete as that one will be my main focus. Once the Mix game decides a winner, however, I should make it over for the endgame of this one.
