The Seniors game is now over after the final three players cut an ICM deal. Ali Khani took the most money with the big stack for $6,430 while Ron Taylor got the second place prize money for $5,866 and Ali Razzaq got the 3rd prize of $5,375.

They then played one all-in flip hand for the trophy, and Ron Taylor ended up taking home the hardware.

There are just three players left in the Seniors now after Andy Wong busted out in 4th place.

There are just four left now in the Seniors and my timing sucks tonight. Once again, I missed the action of Keith Stick busting in 5th as I was updating chip counts as the hand played out.

They are down to 5 now after Robert Seney hit the rail in 6th place for $1,738.

The final table odf the Seniors is moving quickly with the remaining players now down to 6. Wu Yaobin was the 7th place finisher tonight for $1,368 but I've so far been unable to catch any of the action.

They are down to the final table now after Bernard Buyer was the first player out in the official money. I'll grab some pics and approximate stacks shortly.

Leonard Siebenga was the bubble to the money tonight, though he didn't walk away empty-handed as everyone chipped in $20 for a bubble payout. He got it in good with kings, but ace-queen got him with the poker cliche, an ace on the river.

They are down to 11 left now and hand for hand to the money. Rob Fediuk was the one to hit the rail (it's accurate this time lol) after Keith Stick limped the small blind, then called when Fediuk shoved the big. Fediuk was on against for Stick. Fediuk flopped solid draws on but when the board ran out Stick was sitting on the wheel while Fediuk was out the door.

They are just 2 off the money now with 12 left after Dave Pietrzyko hit the rail for 13th. Also, just want to correct a previous error - Cliff Green busted out in 14th place while Rob Fediuk is still very much in the game. Blame my "first-day fingers" lol.

Ali Khani still has the big lead with more than 400k at the break, but the other Ali (Razzaq) is right beside him with the second stack of about 255k right now. See the chip counts for a full look at the remaining stacks and players.

They are down to 13 left in the Seniors game after Rob Fediuk and Simon Lau hit the rail recently. There are a bit less than 10 minutes to play in Level 16 with a break scheduled following the level. I'll grab full chip counts at the break.

They are down to 15 left now with about 20 minutes to play until the next break.

Ali Khani looks to be in control of the final two tables with more than 350k right now. He is the only player with two stacks of yellows and looks to be ~100k ahead of the closest stack. They'll be off for another break at the end of this level and I'll get full counts again then.

They are down to 19 left now, 9 off the money and 1 away from the final two tables.

The Seniors are now 11 players off the money with 21 players left. Paul Meyer and Paul Antal were the most recent exits from the game.

They are down to 23 players left now. Among the recent exits was Julius Roque.

Final 27 Players and Stacks:

Iona Bliss just hit the rail to bring the field down to 29 left. She shoved the small blind after an under-the-gun raise from Patrick Wilson. Wilson had her dominated with ace-queen into king-queen and his ace kicker was the difference after they both rivered the queen.

I've just had a wander around the Seniors tables and it looks like Ali Khani is the leader at the moment. I'll get exact counts at the upcoming break, but it looks like Khani has well over 200k in front of him. Andy Wong is sitting with about 140k while Ron Taylor looks to be playing about 120k right now.

They are down to 34 left with about 5 minutes to play in Level 11, Bijan Emmanuel and Tony Nguyen look to be the players to exit the game from the final four players so far. There will be another break following Level 12.

They are down to 37 players left in the Seniors  with just a few minutes to play in Level 10.

The prizes are in and the field is confirmed at 100 entries. There are still 42 players left alive and they are fighting for 10 paid spots later tonight. The winner is set to pocet a bit more than $8,200 while 10th place will get $712.

Entries are now closed for the Seniors game with 100 as the final number on the board. That still needs confirmation from tournament staff, but if the number holds then 10 players will share in $28,500 in prizes later tonight. There were only 44 players left in the game when they sat down for Level 9, so the game shouldn't go particularly late tonight.

There are about 20 minutes left in the dinner break with entries set to close when they return for Level 9. The field is now sitting at 100 entries exactly, but there is still time for a couple more entries, but if this number holds, 10 players will be sharing in $28,500 in prizes later tonight.

Level 7 is nearly complete wit 95 entries on the board. There is still a full Level 8 to play before they head out for dinner and entries will close when they return from  dinner for Level 9. That means entries will shut down in about 75 minutes.

The prize pool is now one entry shy of $25k with 87 total entries so far. There are still 58 players at the felt with just under 25 minutes to play in Level 6. Entries will close after the dinner break following Level 8, so there are just over 2 hours left to get into the game.

There are now 84 entries for the Seniors game with 63 players still at the felt. There are just under 10 minutes to play in Level 5 with entries still open for a bit more than 2 hours.

Francis Fan, Dale "Soupy" Campbell, Bijan Emmanuel, Ali Razzaq, Brian Wells, and Russ Sluchinski are among the recent faces I've seen in the game today.

Event #1 is on its first break of the day now with 80 entities on the board and 64 players still alive at the felt. When they return, there will be four more levels of poker for new entries and rebuys before the desk shuts down around 5 pm after the dinner break following Level 8.

There are about 10 minutes to play in Level 4 and players will be heading out for their first break of the day at the end of this level. There are 77 entries on the board now for prizes of almost $22k. When they return from the break there are still four levels of open entry, so a 100+ field is still looking good.

The final level of play before the first break is now underway with the start of Level 4. There are 73 entries on the board now with 62 players still in their seats. Among the other players I've seen so far today are Paul "Squirrel Attack" Meyer, Grant Strand, Ed Zurawell, Tony Nguyen. former Main Event winner John Donnelly, Julius Roque, and Ali Khani.

The prizes are now over $17.5k with 62 entries on the board and 56 players still in the action. There are about 15 minutes left in Level 3 with the first break of the day scheduled for the end of Level 4 and entries open until the start of Level 9 about 3 hours and 45 minutes from now.

Level 2 has about 10 minutes to play with the field at more than 50 entries now. There have been a few rebuys with 49 players left in action now and just over 2 levels to play until the first break.

Level 2 is just underway with 45 players in their seats. So far, I've not seen any players bust out so there are no rebuys so far.

Level 1 has about 10 minutes to play still but the field is already approaching 40 entries with more than $11k in prizes in the kitty. Entries are open until the start of Level 9 today (about 5 pm) so it's looking likely that we'll see a field of 100+ today by the time entries close.

The Seniors action is nearly underway with 20  players in their seats to start the game. Players in the action today so far include Rob Lothian, Jeff Forester, Pam MacNaughton, Ron Lauzon, and Cliff Green.

With the 2024 season halfway complete, it's time for PPT #4 and, as usual, the opening hands will be played by the over-50 crowd. The Seniors action gets going at noon on Thu, Sep 19 and players will sit down with 20k in chips for their $340 buy-in.

Levels will last 30 minutes until a winner is decided, and players will have 8 levels to enter the game. Entries will close at the start of Level 9 following the dinner break, so the final chance to enter will be at about 5 p.m. After that, it will be a race to the finish to find out who wins the first trophy at this tour stop.

This game should be my main focus on Thursday, with secondary coverage of Event #2 as possible. Stay tuned here for all the action from the opening event of 2024 PPT #4.
