The €555 Kings of Tallinn Championship brought a huge crowd of 700 entries to Olympic Park Casino in Tallinn, creating a massive prize pool of €329,000, a new record for this tournament. After three days of battle, Mikko Ylämäki from Finland was victorious over all of them, winning €58,835 after a heads-up deal with Andrius Bielskis. Bielskis had to console himself with the €49,875 he received as runner-up but had to see the trophy be awarded to Ylämäki after a nearly two-hour heads-up.
Ylämäki, who was crowned Finnish champion after winning the €560 Main Event in Helsinki back in October, secured his largest-ever recorded cash with the victory, with his previous largest being set in Tallinn as well. The Finnish player is a regularly seen guest in the Estonian capital, most recently finishing in fifth place in the €3,000 High Roller at Kings of Tallinn 2023.
Ylämäki defeated some tough competition on his way to victory, not only beating the very accomplished Bielskis heads-up but also defeating the likes of long-time Finnish crusher Joonas Helin and Kings of Tallinn trophy owner Touko Berndtson at the final table.

Day 3 Action
After an elongated Day 2 left 13 players returning to Day 3, four eliminations had to take place before the streamed final table of nine could begin. The short-stacked Adrians Imsa was the first to fall, after which Jan-Mikael Kesanen quickly followed. The tournament then went on for another hour without anyone leaving, but ultimately Svetozar Marinov and Konsta Heikkila fell in quick succession to leave a final table of nine.
After a few minutes of play, Knut Trulsen became the shortest stack when two other players doubled up. He got his final blinds in with pocket fives and could not win against the tens of Helin. The war of attrition then began as several players doubled up their short stacks before Matte Karjalainen fell victim to then-chipleader Andrius Bielskis in a blind-on-blind confrontation.
Berndtson soon followed when Helin’s ace-queen beat his pocket queens for a sour exit, and Aleksandrs Krumins, who started the final table with the most chips but had gotten short, was eliminated in sixth place soon thereafter, marking Ylämäki’s first knock-out of the final table. Spain’s Jordi Baixas also fell after a mistimed three-bet shove against the same Ylämäki not long after that.
Meanwhile, short-stack ninja Oscar Peleg suddenly found himself among the final four, but that is where his story ended as he could not win a flip against Ylämäki. The Finn scored his third elimination in a row and would add a fourth to that just one orbit later when he ousted Helin with the better hand blind-on-blind.
Heads-Up
It was looking like Ylämäki’s day when he started heads-up play with a three-to-one chip advantage. He even had Bielskis all in with top pair against ace-high on a flop mere moments after restarting the tournament, but Bielskis made runner-runner trips to secure his double-up and take a small lead.
Ylämäki then got lucky of his own when his flopped second pair won against the top pair of Bielskis to stay alive in an all-in situation, and was at risk a second time not much later but won two flips in quick succession to secure a huge chip lead.
Bielskis was granted one comeback by winning a flip of his own, but the back-and-forth heads-up battle finally ended when Ylämäki’s king-jack held against the king-nine of Bielskis, securing him the title, the trophy, and the €1,855 the players left in the middle after striking a deal.
That concludes the story of the record-breaking €555 Kings of Tallinn Championship, but be sure to check out the live reports of the other events in the Estonian capital as well, among which the flagship €1,100 Main Event.

Cards are in the air to start the final day of the €555 Championship. We will report the action in real-time until the live-streamed final table is reached.
Throughout four starting flights, and some additional entries on Day 2, a whopping 700 entries have been made in the Kings of Tallinn €555 Championship. This number absolutely shattered the previous record of 573 entries and created an eye-watering prize pool of €329,000.
The field was set to play down to a final table, but after an arduous battle on Day 2, 13 players were still standing as they bagged up for the finale. Lithuania's Andrius Bielskis leads them with 3,300,000 chips, although he is virtually tied with his nearest contender Oscar Peleg from Sweden, who will start today with 3,280,000 chips.
Both players will bring roughly 55 big blinds into Day 3, a big lead over Bulgaria's Svetozar Marinov, who sits in third with almost half of that with 1,740,000 chips. Meanwhile, Finnish players Joonas Helin and Jan-Mikael Kesänen find themselves at risk of missing the final table, sitting down with 655,000 and 665,000 chips respectively, just 11 big blinds.

All returning players are guaranteed €3,600, but everyone will be hunting the €65,360 that comes with winning the tournament. When they return, they will start with blinds at 30,000/60,000 with a 60,000 big blind ante. Blind levels will be 40 minutes in length throughout the remainder of the tournament, and enough of them will be played for a champion to be crowned.
With the late finish of Day 2, Day 3 will start at 12:30 p.m. local time, with OlyBet.tv providing cards-up coverage from 1 p.m. onwards, on half an hour delay. The live reporting will commence at the same time to not spoil anything from the live stream, so check back in at that time to not miss any of the poker action from the Estonian capital.
