Chun Kwan took down his first Circuit ring tonight and his first live win in the process. The $30k score isn't his biggest ever cash - that came in February for second place in the $1k Casino Niagara Winter Multi-Day Tournament, Niagara Falls - but this is his second best result on the live felt.
He had the chip lead for a good portion of the game, though he surrendered it to Regan Duong for a short time when play was three-ways. He sent third-place finisher Mal Hagan to the rail when he tripped up his kings on the turn to jump ahead of Hagan's flopped ace. In the final hand against runner-up Regan Duong, he called off Duong's small shove with against
and the ace held for the win.
This was just the third live score from the Hong Kong native, but two of his three cashes are the big second place above, and now this winning ring, so what he lacks in quantity, he certainly makes up for in quality.
After a bit of a marathon three-way battle, heads up was a fairly quick affair, lasting only a few hands. In the final hand, Regan Duong got his short stack in with against
for the winner Chun Kwan. Both players missed the board and the ace-high took it down. The $18k score tonight will be enough to push Duong over $150k in lifetime earnings.
They are heads up now in the Turbo $1k after Mal Hagan got his fumes in good with ace-queen against king-nine, and he flopped an ace, but Chunkit Kwan flopped a king and turned another to trip Hagan to the cage for third place.
Mal Hagan is on fumes now after losing a race with pocket eight against ace-ten for Chunkit Kwan. Kwan smashed the flop with two tens and Hagan couldn't come back.
Regan Duong is on the comeback now after doubling against. Chunkit Kwan shoved the small blind and Duong called from the big. His ace-queen was in good shape against king-nine for Kwan and Duong doubled to get to around 2 million and what looks like the lead now.
Chunkit Kwan is the big stack and he's been shoving his small blind almost every hand against Regan Duong. Duong called it one shove off with queen-ten against queen-seven for Kwan. All four queens were out by the end of the board but Duong's kicker was still good for the double.
They are down to three left now on the final table of the Turbo $1k after Austin Hamer finished his run in 4th place.

They are down to 6 now on the $1k Turbo final table after Andy Truong busted out in 7th place for $3,779. I was collecting the slips from Day 1a of the Monster Stack so I missed the action.
Chunkit Kwan raised the button to 50k and Srinvas Gottiparthi called from the big blind. The flop came and Gottiparthi check-shoved over a 25k bet from Kwan. Kwan snapped it off and was in good shape with ace-queen against ace-nine, and
runout didn't change anything.
Garett Maybery was the 9th place finisher tonight in the $1k Turbo to bring the field down to 8.
They are down to nine left on the E10 FT now after #,##0","3":1},"12":0}">Stephen Coughlin hit the rail for 10th place. I missed the action as I was uploading pictures.

There are 11 levels of late entry for this one, which should mean players can get into the game as late as 8:10 PM. After that, it will be a race to the ring.
