The last two hours of today's play the Poker Gods were certainly with the always-so-happy and smiling Marta Porter. Already with two tables left, she had begun to build up her stack, and down to the last ten there just wasn't anything that didn't go her way.
When the nine players in the Main Event gathered on the very last table to play for the eight final table seats she already had a huge advantage with more than 200,000 to the second best in chips. And it didn't stop there. After eliminating Marianna Bastamow-Sinkko on the bubble she almost reached one million in chips. That's more than three times more than Indre Martoviciute and she has 50 percent of the chips in play before the final starts at 1 pm tomorrow. It will all be live-streamed on Olybet.tv so make sure you tune in and follow the action from the start (with a 30-minute delay).

Going into tomorrow's final table Giedre is one of four Lithuanian players Giedre Valgemae. Yesterday one of her opponents in the final, our tv-host Evely Pihela, had a little talk with her.
Level 17 - Blinds: 3,000/6,000 (6,000)
Entries: 8/65
It was before the flop our chip leader Marta Porter min-raised to 12,000 in cutoff and was called by Marianna Bastamow-Sinkko from the button. The blinds folded.
On the flop both players checks. Turn is the
and Marta bets 30,000 and Marianna pushes all-in for almost 200,000 and gets a call.

River didn't change anything and the kings held up for Marta who's now increased her lead until tomorrow's final even further and almost has a million in chips.
Marianna Bastamow-Sinkko bubbles the final table but gets a consolation prize with a ticket to the Irish Open.

There are eight prizes in this tournament but as I earlier mentioned in the report the Irish Open gives away a bubble prize to the one who final table bubbles here in the Main Event so all nine actually won't leave this tournament empty handed and one of them will be on her way to Ireland in March to compete there.
We just had our first all-in since they got down to nine and it was Marianna Bastamow-Sinkko who was the player at risk as her Ace-King was all-in against her fellow countrymen (woman) Hanna Heinlo with Ace-Queen. The best hand held up for Marianna and the play continues.

Finding herself with only 37,000 left in her stack on these high blinds Kairit Leibold needed a double up and pushed her chips into the middle with King-Three and was called by our chip leader Marta Porter who made the call with Ace-Four.
An ace on the flop didn't give our sunshine Kairit much hope and no help on the turn or the river sent her out in tenth place here in the Main Event and we are down to the very last table where just one more to go before we have our final eight.

During the last break, Evely Pihela came over to the bloggers HQ (well it's just me here reporting but anyway) saying "Please, please just give me some hands and a double up, please". I wished her luck as she returned to her seat and a few hands into the level she looked down on Ace-King on the big blind after Marianna Bastamow Sinkko raised under the gun.
Evely pushed her stack over the line and got called by Ace-Queen. "Please, please no queen," Evely prayed to the dealer, and after the river came she performed a little celebration dance as she avoided any of her opponent's outs and got that well-needed double up.

We are so, so close to the final table now in the Main Event you can almost feel the excitement in the air here in the grand ballroom at Hilton Park and Olympic Casino.
As the players had another break we took all of their chip counts and there's a new queen on top. The always smiling and laughing Marta Porter has 450,000 reasons to have a big smile on her face now.

We are down to the last ten players in the Main Event here in Queens of Tallinn and only two more to go before we reach the money. But the player who gets herself eliminated on the final table bubble won't bust empty-handed. The Irish Open was so thrilled about something like this being created that they brought their ambassadors Karen Muir and Jennifer Steele who will give a ticket to the Irish Open in March 2024 for our ninth-place finisher.

"It's so hard just standing here on the rail, I get so nervous," one man said as he was railing his wife in the tournament earlier and we've had quite a few men here during these days on the rail watching their girlfriends or wives compete in this historical poker festival.
But don't be too sorry all of you men here in Tallinn because later tonight we have a tournament where everyone can join with a buy-in of €60. This Ladies and Gentlemen's tournament starts in an hour local time (9 pm) up here in the grand ballroom and of course, the blog will have a sneak peek of it even if we focus mainly on the Main Event right now as they are down to the very last 11 players in the field and closing in on the final table bubble.

Players just returned from their break and while they took a well-deserved legstretcher we counted some chips the queen on the fort at this time is Indre Martoviciute from Lithuania who was also the only player above 200,000 in chips.
The average stack is exactly 150,000.

And just like that we are down the the final two tables in the Main Event and just had another re-draw. Only eight more players until we reach our final table in this historical tournament where the winner will walk away with €6,167 in prize money and the beautiful Queens of Tallinn 2023 golden necklace.
Finnish Minna Peltonen and her friends created a network called Sisters and together they travel all around doing different things. Yesterday they were invited by the organization to have a little poker school here in the tournament room. Tournament Director Teresa Nousiainen sat down with them and taught them how to play this amazing game for half an hour. After learning the basics all 27 of them jumped into the freeroll satellite to the Main Event here last night and Minna was one of the three lucky who took a seat in the tournament and started here on day two.

As we just lost Miss Finland Sara Chafak from the tournament we are down to the last 24 players and just made a re-draw for the last three tables. As earlier mentioned we are playing down to the final eight players and if you go over to the payouts page you will find all the prizes in the Main Event here in Tallinn.
In the Gallery you'll find all the pictures from today but here's some of the queens who played here on day two.

As the Main Event now officially closed the registration the final number of entrants was 65 players creating a prize pool of €19,247. The final eight players will take a piece each of this cake and the eventual winner won't only get the beautiful gold Queens of Tallinn 2023 Necklace but also €6,167 in first prize.
As they just started on the 12th level of the tournament 25 players remain and the plan for today is to play down to the final table which will be live-streamed tomorrow with a 30-minute delay.
Miss Finland Sara Chafak is still in the tournament but needs a double-up to stay alive.
The tournament clock just stopped here on day two and all the tables will play the last three hands before they go on a 20-minute break when they come back the registration closes and we will have the final numbers in the Main Event.
We started the day with 59 players and so far another six has entered or made an re-entry.
Due to the fact there weren't enough players to even start the scheduled day 1C the organization decided to instead set up a freeroll for the five players who were here and Finn Maydia Rantala was the very last who won her seat into the €350 Queens of Tallinn Main Event and didn't pay a single dime for it.
She now sitting over at table six alongside Catlin Muur, and Gerli Ruuberg amongst others.
59 players made it into day two here in Queens of Tallinn but whoever still wants to join the action will have until the first break of the day to do so. And if you are unlucky enough to bust out this is also a tournament where you can re-enter if you'd like to.
That's exactly what our amazing Anne Bezdek did after losing with kings to Justina Andriukeviciute with Ace-Jack when all of Anne's chips went into the middle but her opponent didn't only hit one, but two aces on the board sending Anne to the rail. Or maybe I should say the cashier desk as she took up another €350 to fire another bullet in this amazing tournament.
"Black is my happy color," Anne said right before the hand when she was eliminated sitting next to Evely Pihela all dressed in a stylish purple jacket and pink top which matched the whole interior design here in the grand ballroom.
