PokerNews back as WSOP official reporting partner

By Mad Harper

After a two-year hiatus, PokerNews is once again partnering with the World Series of Poker as official live reporting partner –  with the added bonus that PokerNews’s popular MyStack app will also be back in action.

The WSOP is poker’s longest running tournament in the world and this year’s event - the 48th edition – features a total of 74 bracelet events over 49 consecutive days, along with satellites, cash games and three-times-a-day deep stack tournaments. The action kicks off on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas – and PokerNews will be there every step of the way.

The WSOP Main Event will reach its final nine players – the November Nine –  on Monday, July 17.

888poker is the exclusive online provider of World Series of Poker and Main Event Travel as its main travel partner. 888poker qualifiers receive a fantastic $12,500 WSOP Main Event package which includes their accommodation, $10k Main Event buy-in plus $1,200 expenses.

We’re 888poker’s main travel partner for the WSOP but we can help all players who are Vegas-bound this summer.

Last year Qui Nguyen won the WSOP Main Event for $8,005,310. The event attracted 6,737 entrants with the top 1,011 getting a share of the $63,340,268 prize pool. The average prize pool was more than $3.2 million with a first prize of over $500k.  The 107,833 entries at the 2016 WSOP were the most in the event’s 47-year history with 15,767 entrants making the money.
