The final table of the €1,500 inaugural WPTDeepstacks event at WPT Amsterdam at Holland Casino is underway.
The Main Event starts tomorrow and we’re the tour’s Official Travel Partner so let us help you find great accommodation in beautiful Amsterdam.
Scotland’s Richard Milne was the start of day chip leader but with play now underway, has currently lost the lead to Dutch player Tobias Peters. The Scot had made a point yesterday of saying that he “only played premiums”. Canadian pro Ami Barer is also among the finalists.
There were 243 entries in the WPTDeepstacks’ first event in Europe- with 31 getting a share of the €328,050 prize pool. Among those who cashed yesterday were Day 1A chip leader Johan Strijbis (29th – €2,180) and Day 1B chip leader Dean Arsenie (13th – €5,345). Others include US WPTDeepStacks regular Loni Harwood (26th – €2,550) and WPT Champion Juha Helppi (16th – €4,475).
The WPT Amsterdam €3,300 Main Event starts tomorrow (May 9) so there’s still plenty of time to head to the Netherlands. The tournament features two starting flights, with one re-entry per flight. The schedule also features a two-day €6,000 High Roller (starting today) plus several other great tournaments such as a €750 Pot-Limit Omaha, €550 Crazy Pineapple and €2k NL Turbo.
This is the WPT’s third consecutive visit to the Netherlands. The WPTDeepstacks tour is making its European debut here and the new WPTDeepStacks European Player of the Year will earn a package that includes a custom trophy, €15k of buy-ins for WPT Main Tour events in Europe and €5k WPTDeepStacks Europe sponsorship package. The WPTDeepStacks Amsterdam series champion will also earn a seat into the season-ending WPTDeepStacks event in Europe, plus €500 for travel expenses.
