WPT LA Poker Classic Main Event starts tomorrow

By Mad Harper

A host of big names have headed to LA this week to compete in the WPT LA Poker Classic at the Commerce Casino. The prestigious $10K buy-in Main Event starts tomorrow (through to March 2) and is set to attract the biggest players in the world. Among those who have jetted off to California are Scottish pros Niall Farrell and Ludovic Geilich.

Earlier this month, the two Glaswegians found themselves sitting next to each other for the final table of the 888Live Main Event at Kings Casino Rozvadov. WPT Caribbean winner Farrell finished third for €36,113 while UKIPT Marbella champion Geilich, who was chip leader at the start of the final, was fourth for €29,184.

The WPT Main Event will feature only one Day 1 however registration will remain open until the beginning of Day 2 – so there’s still a chance to get over there for one of the biggest West Coast tourneys of the year. If you’re already in LA, there are two $1k satellites running this evening.

We are the WPT’s official Travel Partner so can offer you the very best rates for stays at the Crowne Plaza Los Angeles. Last year, WSOPE bracelet winner Dietrich Fast from Germany took it down for a career-best cash of $1,00,800.
