Congrats to Traian Bostan, winner of the biggest Unibet Open ever held

Romanian player Traian Bostan has won the biggest ever Unibet Open Main Event ever held on home soil in Bucharest. Bostan staged a superb comeback from less than four big blinds won €100,000, by far the biggest of his live poker career. There were 603 entries in to the €1,100 Main Event, held at the JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel.

 

On the final day, British player Eli Heath lead the remaining 15 players and was runner-up for €64,200. A total of seven Romanians made the final table including two-time Unibet Open champion Dan Murariu who was on his seventh final table.

Unibet described the Bucharest event as “a blast!” A team spokesperson said: “We broke the record, sold out each side-event, partied till early in the morning and enjoyed ourselves to the max. Pokerfest Romania thank you for hosting us! Dealers, media, staff and players thank you for coming and have an awesome holiday."

The next Unibet event is the final of the inaugural season of the Unibet UK Poker Tour taking place at the Manchester235 casino from this Friday (December 9) to December 11.
