Players can only win points if they cash in both MonteDam Swing locations: ie Monte Carlo and Amsterdam, and any player who competes in at least one tournament in both locations will receive an online ticket for a guaranteed $30k freeroll on PokerStars. Players who compete in both Main Events will receive a $300 voucher towards buy-ins for the 2017 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker.
PokerStars Director of Live Events Edgar Stuchley said: “Both PokerStars and the World Poker Tour are committed to growing the game of poker, and the MonteDam Swing was developed to benefit players competing at both PokerStars Championship Monte Carlo and WPT Amsterdam. This exciting partnership allows players a natural transition from one world-class festival to another, and we encourage our players to head to WPT Amsterdam following their time in Monte Carlo.”
The combined PokerStars Championship Monte Carlo and WPT Amsterdam schedules offer players the chance to compete in more than 80 events, with a wide range of buy-ins and game formats.
The €1,100 buy-in PokerStars National Championship Monte Carlo features a €1 million guarantee, three starting flights, and a 30,000-chip starting stack. A big turnout is also expected for the €5,300 PokerStars Championship Monte Carlo Main Event; at last year’s EPT12 Grand Final, Jan Bendik defeated a 1,098-entry field to win €961,800.
The WPT Amsterdam €3,300 Main Event is the second WPT Main Tour event of Season XVI and, as well as their cash prize, the winner will earn a $15k seat into the season-ending WPT Tournament of Champions. The Season XVI WPT Amsterdam schedule includes a €6k High Roller (May 8-9), along with a €750 PLO tourney, €550 Crazy Pineapple and €2k NL Turbo event.
The MonteDam-qualifying €1,500 buy-in WPTDeepStacks Amsterdam Main Event debuts the expansion of the WPTDeepstack tour and will also be the first qualifying event for the 2017 WPTDeepStacks European Player of the Year contest. The winner will get €15k of buy-ins to WPT Main Tour events in Europe and a €5k WPTDeepStacks sponsorship package.
