Three poker heavyweights are among the six finalists at WPT Rolling Thunder: Olivier Busquet who is vying for his second WPT title and already has $7m in live tournament winnings, Canadian pro Sorel Mizzi, who has won more than $11m in live events, and 2016 EPT Barcelona High Roller winner Connor Drinan, who has amassed more than $10m.
Next WPT events: Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown starting March 31, followed by the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Finale from April 2. We are the tour’s Official Travel Partner so do check for hotel deals here.
Leading the way however is American player Mike Del Vecchio, who hails from New York but now lives in Las Vegas. He is guaranteed the biggest cash of his live poker career after bagging up 4,270,000 last night but faces a daunting task at today’s final.
Del Vecchio’s biggest cash to date was for $51,377 after winning the Grand Challenge Tournament Series in Las Vegas in 2012 for $51,377. His total live tournament winnings to date amount to $282,784; he could more than double if he claims victory in Sacramento today. There were 421 entries creating a prize pool of $1,347,200 with $284,638 for first. All remaining players are guaranteed at least $52,222.
The WPT Live Stream will broadcast all the action on a 30-minute cards-up delay.
