Main Event Travel is gearing up for another incredible appearance at Goliath, taking place at Grosvenor Casino in Coventry. From 31st July to 3rd August, we’ll be on-site with our signature stand — and this year, we’re bringing something new and exciting to the table: Texas Throw ’Em, a high-energy darts-based poker game with great prizes on the line.
Texas Throw ’Em blends precision, poker, and a bit of fun. Each player gets seven darts with the goal of landing on five different playing cards to form their best five-card poker hand. To qualify, at least five darts must land on five unique cards, and standard Texas Hold ’Em hand rankings will be used. Whether you're a poker pro or a casual thrower, it's all about where those darts land — and with each throw, you’re aiming for the top of the leaderboard.
Players can enter as many times as they like throughout the event, but only their highest-ranking hand will count. The tournament will close at 4pm on Sunday 3rd August, marking the start of Day 2 of the Main Event Travel Open. That’s when the leaderboard will be finalized, and this year, there’s even more to play for! This includes the special Texas Throw ’Em Trophy — will be awarded. In the case of tied hands, we’ll be keeping it old school with a classic “split pot,” and prizes will be shared equally.
The first-place winner of Texas Throw ’Em will receive £1,000 in Main Event Travel credit, which can be used toward hotel and flight bookings on the MET website. But the prizes don’t stop there. Thanks to Grosvenor Poker, 2nd and 3rd place finishers will receive an exclusive prize (to be revealed soon on our social media!) , while players finishing 4th to 20th will be entered into a special prize draw to win £100 in travel credit.
We’re pleased to share that every player who reaches the Final Table of the Main Event Travel Open will receive a limited-edition MET goodie bag. These exclusive packs are filled with branded merchandise — including hoodies, beanies, and more — to commemorate their deep run and celebrate the achievement in true Main Event Travel style.
Alongside the prestigious Main Event Travel Open Winner’s Trophy, a second trophy will be awarded to the champion of Texas Throw ’Em.
