There were four start flights in all for the €220 tournament with flight 1c yesterday drawing 244 entries and final turbo 1d seeing another 80 players take to the felt.
The event came with a €100k guaranteed prize pool but has easily beaten that at €138,240. There are 143 survivors who will be back for Day 2 today at 1 pm local time.
Pazos de la Torre is the current chip leader with 470,000. The vast majority of the entries for the €220 Opening Event were from Spanish players – and they continue to dominate the field for Day 2. However, a far more international audience is headed this way next week with the start of the €50k guaranteed High Roller on Wednesday and the eagerly-anticipated €1,100 Main Event on Thursday which comes with a monster €500k guarantee. The €220 Ladies Event is next Sunday, May 21.
