The Genting Poker Series kicks off its 2017 tour in Luton next month with a £100,000 guarantee €440 buy-in Main Event. The tournament will be running from January 18-22 at Genting Casino in Skimpot Road. The Main Event is a re-entry and players can buy in until the end of level 8 with re-entries allowed for each/all of the start days (January 18, 19 and 20).
British player Dan Stanway won the last event in Sheffield earlier this month for £31,700 after beating a field of 301 entries. The victory took his lifetime live winnings over the £100k mark.
There are 18 events planned for 2017 taking place right across the UK. The “Mini” events – such as Newcastle in February – have a £220 buy-in with £35,000 guarantee. The major £100,000 guarantee events scheduled so far are Sheffield in March, Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, in May, Liverpool in August, Edinburgh in October.
