Fraser stacked up for GUKPT Leeds Day 2

By Mad Harper

MainEventTravel CEO Fraser MacIntyre (pictured here with Asif Warris) is one of the big stacks for Day 2 at GUKPT Leeds  after accumulating 108,800 yesterday. There were 202 entries bringing the grand total to 308 and generating a huge prize pool of £154,000.

The next GUKPT is GUKPT Luton which is always a popular stop. GUKPT Luton runs October 8 – 15 so bag your accommodation early! We are the tour’s Official Travel Partner and can help you find great hotels near the tournament venue.

MacIntyre, who hails from Ayr in Scotland and took over MainEventTravel three years ago, has more than $600k in live poker winnings to date including a tremendous runner-up finish at EPT Madrid in 2012.

The current chip leader for Day 2 is British player Ed Swales on 175,000. Swales has some £6k live tournament winnings to his name but has yet to cash at a GUKPT event. There will be a total of 101 players back for Day 2 today including Grosvenor Ambassadors Will Kassouf (64,300) and Katie Swift (29,900) – who both played yesterday along with Day 1a survivor Jeff Kimber (88,100). Kassouf wrote: “What a sick grind! Arrived at the feature table with a 12k bowl of rice in the penultimate level of the day and then the show began! Got it in good twice, spun it up and bagged up 64,300 (64BBs) for Day 2 starting at 1pm today. No messing about! Game on! Come onnn! Weee! “

Other notables include GUKPT Passport winner Andy Hills on 36,200, Day 1a chip leader Arthur “The Colonel” Harvey (179,600), two-time GUKPT champion Ali Mallu (100,000), Andrew Christoforou (91,800) and Asif Warris (28,800).

MET all-in triangles

As always at GUKPT events, MainEventTravel.com is sponsoring the all-in triangles in Leeds to do watch out for them on the live stream.

This year’s GUKPT Leeds is a welcome return for the tour which unfortunately had to bail last year after the casino was badly damaged by floods. The unscheduled two-year break means that 59-year-old retired executive Stephen Foster is still the defending champion. He won GUKPT Leeds for £24,500 back in 2015.

Now celebrating its 11th season, the GUKPT is the longest running poker tour in the UK, welcoming poker enthusiasts from all across the country for a packed week of fun poker action.
