By Mad Harper

French player Caroline Fauvel took down the €1,200 PMU.fr WPTN Deauville 2016 Main Event on Sunday after beating Samir Abbar heads-up for the €87,000 prize. A total of 388 players entered the tournament, held at beautiful Casino Barriere Deauville. Former French Player of the Year and PMU.fr Team Pro Erwann Pecheux, who was on his eighth final table, finished fifth for €21,460.

Fauvel is now the first French woman to win a WPT National title. The first place prize far eclipsed her total live winnings to date and gave her her first ever live event trophy.

The next World Poker Tour stop is WPT National Cambodia from January 2-13 – a chance to get in a visit to the world-famous Angkor Wat temple complex! The poker festival, which runs January 2-13, features a range of various poker tournaments starting at US$ 110. WPT National Cambodia will take place at Queenco Hotel & Casino in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. The $1,485 Main Event will feature a re-entry format, with players will be allowed two entries per starting day for a total of six entries.

Queenco Hotel & Casino is in a stunning spot, located amidst the blue water and soft sands of Victory Beach and only 17 km away from Sihanoukville International Airport (KOS). The casino is open 24/7 and there’s also a luxury spa.
