American player Daniel Weinman from Atlanta has won the record-breaking WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open event on his 29th birthday. Weinman, who now has more than $2 million in live tournament winnings, beat Nathan Bjerno heads-up to take the massive $892,433 first prize – by far his biggest cash to date. It includes a $15,000 seat into the season-ending WPT Tournament of Champions at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel in April. There were 1,312 entries creating a $4,199,712 prize pool.

There are three more mouth-watering WPT events this month: the partypoker WPT Playground Winter Festival is already underway at the Playground Poker Club near Montreal with the C$1,000,000 guarantee Main Event starting on Friday, February 10. The 16-event schedule also includes a $45,000 guarantee NL Six-Max tourney, $30,000 guarantee NL Hold'em Mega Stack Turbo and $15,000 guarantee Seniors Tournament
The WPT’s second event this month is also in Canada – at the spectacular Fallsview Casino Resort right next to Niagara Falls. The dates for the overall festival are February 17 - 24 with the C$4700 + C$300 WPT Fallsview Poker Classic Main Event starting February 22. WPT fun continues towards the end of the month with the WPT LA Poker Classic at the Commerce Casino. The prestigious $10K buy-in Main Event runs February 25 to March 3 and is set to attract the biggest players in the world.
