The PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas hosted the fifth installment of the GPI/THM’s Global Poker Awards over the weekend. From exceptional player performances to notable contributions in the poker industry, the event celebrated the finest of 2023.

Leading up to the ceremony, the Global Poker Index revealed several distinguished award recipients such as:

  • Doyle Brunson was posthumously honored with the Poker Icon Award for his enduring influence on the game, accepted by PokerGO’s Mori Eskandani.
  • Casey Kastle received The Hendon Mob Award for his unprecedented achievement of cashing in poker tournaments across 50 countries.
  • Nadya Magnus was recognized with the Global Poker Award for Charitable Community Initiative for her ongoing efforts in providing tournament opportunities to deserving players, particularly women.
  • The GGPoker “Game of Gold” received the GPI Order of Merit for its innovative poker-meets-reality-TV format.

These awards, along with others announced earlier, celebrated remarkable performances both at and away from the tables, including the recognition of Bin Weng as the overall 2023 GPI Player of the Year, Kristen Foxen as the 2023 Female Player of the Year, and Nick Pupillo as the 2023 GPI Mid-Major Player of the Year. Isaac Haxton was also acknowledged as the PokerGO Tour Player of the Year during the GPA gala.

The evening showcased a diverse array of winners across various categories.

The World Poker Tour and PokerStars emerged as prominent winners, with WPT receiving recognition for its outstanding series and Adam Pliska being honored as Best Industry Person. PokerStars also secured multiple awards, including Best Stream for PokerStars Live.
