Congratulations to Sebastien Compte, winner of MPN Morocco

By Mad Harper

French Moroccan player Sebastien Compte has continued his run of big cashes in Marrakech, taking down the MPN Poker Tour Morocco Main Event at beautiful Mazagan Beach Resort for a total of 280,000 Dirham (approximately €26,000). Compte, whose live tourney winnings are now close to $600,000, beat a total field of 312 to snag his first MPN trophy; he already has six major wins under his belt including victory in the Mazagan Poker Million in 2010, the Marrakech Poker Open and the Dakar Poker Tour.

The €550 MPN Morocco Main Event generated a total prize pool of MAD 1,508,350, a number swelled by the cheerful abandon with which people took to the unlimited rebuy option available until the start of play on Day 2. There were 44 players who took a share of the prize pool, the large majority of them boasting Moroccan or French Moroccan heritage. Only a sprinkling of those who cashed hail from somewhere other than France or North Africa.

The next MPN Tour stop is Montesino Poker in the beautiful city of Vienna, Austria from January 26 – 29. The €200,000 guarantee Main Event costs €550 to buy in and players will have a choice of starting day: Day 1A January 26th or Day 1B January 27th. The schedule also includes the €150 buy-in MPNPT Austria Poker Cup and Players Welcome Party.

Vienna is a stunning city with a ton of activities and beautiful architecture. The MPN Poker Tour is operated by MPN and powered by Microgaming, the world’s largest online casino software supplier. Microgaming has a long history of organising high quality poker events and the ethos at MPN Tour events is ‘Fun, Friendly and Affordable – who could ask for more!
