August will be Cash Game Festival’s second visit to Bulgaria – and a top-notch weekend of poker, parties and sun-drenched beaches is on offer. The last Cash Game Festival in Malta was an absolute winner – with a rooftop pool party and catamaran trip among the highlights of the event. Players from all over Europe competed during five days of nonstop cash game action.
Bulgaria is an ideal setting for a summer poker getaway: lovely warm weather, gorgeous beaches, delicious food and friendly people. In addition to several other poker variations, Sviten Special (or “the best game ever”, invented in Sweden) has become a festival favourite. Here are the rules if you still haven’t tried it!
What makes Cash Game Festival different from any other poker festival is that players don’t have to miss any fun activities because they’re stuck in a tournament; with cash games, it’s easy to take a break whenever you want but still get back to the tables after the outing or party is over.
Cash Game Festivals offer 24/7 cash games throughout five-day live events with live online broadcasts straight from the feature tables which can be viewed on Twitch. All the festivals are spiced up with fine dining, fierce partying and several other activities introducing local sights and culture.
Prop bet shenanigans
At Cash Game Festival’s first visit to Bulgaria, the Festival’s founder Martin Franke von Zweigbergk (best known as Franke) engaged in an epic prop bet with London-based Estonian Janar Kokk. Kokk lost the bet and had to go and live in a tiny town in Poland for a month. The town’s mayor heard about Kokk’s “imprisonment” and honoured Kokk and partner Elroa with an official reception. The story made national headlines in Poland, with TV crews coming to interview Janar and Elroa. Kokk didn’t waste his time in the isolated community though – he organized a charity tournament with poker pro Monika Zukowicz to raise funds for orphaned children in Eastern Poland.
