Britain’s Lawrence Bayley led the WSOP Main Event at the end of Day 2ab and now it’s fellow Brit Artan Dedusha in the lead with 680,000. Dedusha is competing in his very first WSOP Main Event and had an eventful Day 2c. He cracked kings when his pocket fives flopped a set, and cracked aces when he flopped two pair.
All Day 2c survivors will be back later today to join the 1,100 players who made it through 2ab yesterday.

Dedusha, who has $118,186 in live tournament winnings to date, has achieved most of his cashes in the UK. He is clearly on a roll; he scored his biggest cash ever a month ago when he took down the Grosvenor 25/25 Series in London for £25,241 and in April he was third in the PokerStars Cup in Monte Carlo for €18,832.
Other Brits who fared well on Day 2c including JP Kelly who bagged up 383,000 and MainEventTravel CEO Fraser MacIntyre. He wrote: “Wooohoooo. Day 3 of the WSOP main event here we come. 255,300 betting discs to try and take to Day 4.“ Many other UK players survived Day 2c including Robert Cowen, Tom Hall, Rory Brown, partypoker’s Charlie Godwin, Jeff Kimber, Jake Cody, Talal Shakerchi, Max Silver and Tamer Kamel along with Irish players Patrick Clarke and Nick Abou Risk.
Former Main Event champions Scotty Nguyen, Johnny Chan, Joe Cada, and Carlos Mortensen are still in contention. Other notables include 888poker Ambassador Dominik Nitsche, Felipe Ramos, Cate Hall, 2016 November Niner Fernando Pons and Natasha Mercier.
This year’s WSOP is the third largest ever, with 7,221 players creating a massive $67,877,400 prize pool, to be shared by the top 1,084 players. The winner will get $8,150,000 – or a cool $10 million if they are a 888poker qualifier. Everyone who reaches the final table is guaranteed $1 million.
