Battle of Malta 2019 packages on offer now

By Mad Harper

Accommodation and buy-in packages are available now for this year’s Battle of Malta giving players the chance to sort out all their travel and tournament requirements at the same time.

The packages are available exclusively through MainEventTravel, the Official Travel Partner for Battle of Malta, with four- to seven-night stays at the 5-star Intercontinental Hotel. This year’s Battle of Malta is running October 15-22 with a €1 million guarantee for the €555 buy-in Main Event and more than 30 tournaments on the schedule.

The 5-star Intercontinental Hotel – Malta’s largest 5-star hotel – provides unrivalled convenience for players; it’s located in the same property as the tournament area, so guests are only minutes away from all the action in the spectacular Eden Arena. The hotel has a ton of luxury amenities including three gorgeous swimming pools, hotel spa, fitness centre and private beach.

Any player who buys their accommodation/buy-in package through Battle of Malta/Main Event Travel and then makes the final table of the Main Event or High Roller will get an extra free night’s accommodation at the hotel. Furthermore, all players who organiser their packages through Main Event Travel will also automatically enjoy access to all the Battle of Malta parties during the event.

The award-winning Battle of Malta smashed records last year with the biggest poker event ever held in Malta. The Main Event attracted a staggering 3,816 entries creating a €1,850,760 prize pool, nearly double the €1 million guarantee, with French champion Julien Stropoli winning €168,500. There were nearly 13,000 tournament entries overall and nearly €2.56 million was awarded in prize money across 15 different tournaments.

As part of MainEventTravel’s comprehensive service for the Battle of Malta, players will be able to register online for any of the Main Event start days, as well as book their flights and hotel accommodation.

Battle of Malta Event Director Diane Fenech said: "Staying at the Intercontinental is a really great experience; there’s an amazing atmosphere during the Battle of Malta and nothing beats the luxury of being able to get to the tournament area from your bedroom in just a few minutes! The Intercontinental is a fabulous hotel and located right in the heart of St Julian’s, close to numerous great bars, restaurants and clubs.

“Malta is a dream location for a poker tournament and October often has amazing weather which all helps make Battle of Malta a true must-attend tournament on any poker player’s calendar. We were staggered by the turn-out last year and looking forward to welcoming even bigger numbers for this year’s event."
